The National Basketball League today announced Europcar as the ‘Official Car Rental’ partner to the NBL for the 2015/16 NBL season.
NBL General Manager Jeremy Loeliger was excited to partner with Europcar as the league continues to secure major sponsors ahead of the season tip off next month.
“We are excited to welcome Europcar as our ‘Official Car Rental partner. The NBL is part of the global brand of basketball and we have a strong agenda to collaborate with leagues across Asia and the US, so the international reach of Europcar is very complementary to our strategy.
“Europcar joins Virgin Australia and Helloworld as our travel industry partners as we continue to leverage our international links but also take advantage of our four-state Australian footprint and trans-Tasman opportunities that can be created with Europcar and our other airline and booking partners.
Europcar Managing Director Ron Santiago also noted the importance of providing greater access to games for basketball fans through Europcar’s diverse fleet of vehicles. “Getting more people to games, more often, is not only good for the League, but for the continued growth of the sport at a grass roots level.”
The partnership will deliver significant benefits to both brands, including Europcar gaining valuable exposure to the NBL’s young professional aspirational lifestyle demographic through digital asset sharing.
Since being acquired by Melbourne-based businessman Larry Kestelman in June, the NBL has pursued an ambitious agenda to secure major sponsors and broadcast rights, with the league announcing a broadcast deal with FOXSPORTS earlier this month.
The NBL has also recently announced its 2015/16 fixtures which include moving from a weekend schedule to a Wednesday-Sunday five-day schedule as it continues to reposition the NBL to be the number one summer entertainment sport in Australia.
