Europcar continues to support cycling with the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI) sponsorship
Europcar continued its partnership with the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI) by sponsoring the chamber’s annual Tour de France lunch for the third year running.
With Team Europcar riding in this year’s Tour de France, Director of Sales and Marketing at Europcar Australia and New Zealand, Mike Warmington said the company is proud to support the lunch once again, further reaffirming its commitment to road safety and the cycling community.
“Europcar has a strong association with cycling, domestically and around the globe, thanks to our support of both Team Europcar and a range of cycling events across Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Warmington said.
“We’re donating the proceeds from the silent auction at this year’s Tour de France lunch to the Amy Gillett Foundation because we’re committed to promoting safety for all road users.”
Mr Warmington said that the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s annual Tour de France luncheon provided an opportunity for Melbourne business leaders to meet and network.
“By hosting one of the most popular business lunches in Melbourne, FACCI helps French companies including Europcar continue to network and develop critical business relationships in Australia,” said Mr Warmington.
The Chamber’s General Manager, Mr Olivier Deschang said that Europcar’s ongoing support of the lunch was appreciated, and allows them to increase their visibility to both the French-Australian business and cycling communities.
“Thanks to Europcar’s support, FACCI can host the Tour de France lunch, which creates an opportunity for French and Australian companies to meet and engage,” said Mr Deschang.
This year’s Tour de France lunch at the Peninsula, Shed 9 at Docklands will be hosted by former Commonwealth long-jumper and sports commentator, David Culbert and French chef Gabriel Gaté. Chef Nicolas Poelaert will create a four course French menu.
Europcar will also use the luncheon to showcase a new category of ‘bike-ready’ vehicles with Thule ProRide Bike Carriers.
The new category of Mitsubishi Outlanders fitted with bike carriers is a first for Australia’s car rental market and are available from five airport locations – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Coolangatta and Maroochydore.
