Leading vehicle rental provider, Europcar, is continuing its support of Australian sport, signing a two-year sponsorship deal with the reigning AFL premiers, the Sydney Swans.
For seasons 2013 and 2014, Europcar will be formally recognised as an Associate Partner and Official Car Hire Supplier of the Sydney Swans, with an option for a third season in 2015.
The Swans’ first game for the 2013 season will be this Saturday 30 March when they take on local rivals, the Greater Western Sydney Giants, at ANZ Stadium.
Europcar Sales and Marketing Director, Mike Warmington, said “The Sydney Swans are recognised as an elite sporting organisation, both on and off the field, and Europcar is delighted to be associated with last year’s premiers.”
“Australians love their sport – whether they’re playing or watching, it’s a part of our national identity and there’s no better example than AFL,” Mr Warmington said.
As part of the sponsorship, Europcar branding will feature on LED signage at the SCG, the Sydney Swans’ website and the Facebook page and Europcar will have access to corporate hospitality at SCG home games.
Sydney Swans Chief Commercial Officer, Grant Rose, said he was delighted to have the rental car company – one of the largest car hire services companies in the world – on board with the Club in 2013.
“We take a lot of pride in our corporate partners program and are thrilled to secure a partnership with Europcar, who are such a well respected brand in Australia and throughout the world,” Mr Rose said.
“Our Club has a reputation for successful, long term partnerships – underlined by our more than 25 year association with Principle Partner QBE – and we look forward to developing a strong relationship with Europcar this year and beyond.
“The start of the new AFL season is an exciting time and there is a lot to look forward to both on and off the field for the Swans again in 2013,” he said.
Europcar also sponsors the Melbourne Tigers basketball team, the Perth Glory A-League club and have a strong association in the sport of cycling, both domestically and globally, including the sponsorship of ‘Team Europcar’, which participates at international events such as the Tour de France.
