Europcar International has presented the Team Europcar cyclists for the 2013 season with a strong team of 25 cyclists including three new recruits.
Managing Director of Europcar Australia and New Zealand, Ron Santiago, said the new recruits bring experience and skill to the team and are expected to take Team Europcar to great heights in the 2013 cycling season.
“We are excited to welcome Natnael Brehane from the African country, Eritrea, and French nationals Bryan Coquard and Morgan Lamoisson to Team Europcar,” Mr Santiago said.“With the addition of these three all-rounders to an already strong team, we are confident that 2013 will be our best season yet.”
Since the establishment of Team Europcar in 2011, the team set the bar high by achieving great results in its first season.
“The team performed exceptionally well in its inaugural season and went on to continue the success of its first year in 2012 with a stunning performance during cycling’s most prestigious event—the Tour de France,” Mr Santiago said.
“Europcar is also the official vehicle provider of the Tour de France and our support of this event reflects the company’s focus on customer satisfaction, mobility, flexibility and concern for the environment.”
The company’s alignment with cycling is not by chance and Europcar set out to partner with the sport due to its close alignment with Europcar’s focus on innovative travel solutions.
“Europcar has a strong association with cycling, both domestically and around the globe—we proudly sponsor a number of cycling events across Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Santiago said. “Cycling fits perfectly with Europcar’s understanding of the importance of mobility and our new brand philosophy, Moving Your Way.”
This year, Europcar Australia and New Zealand made its debut as the naming rights sponsor of the Most Competitive Rider Jersey in the Santos Tour Down Under – the first race on the UCI World Tour road cycling calendar and the largest and most prestigious professional cycling race in the southern hemisphere.
Europcar also sponsors Bupa’s Around the Bay in a Day and the Amy Gillett Foundation’s Amy’s Gran Fondo.
“For Europcar, sponsoring events in the cycling industry demonstrates our commitment to safe cycling and road safety,” Mr Santiago said. “We will continue to support the sport of cycling to encourage health and wellbeing within the community and at the same time promote safety for all road users.”
Mr Santiago said Team Europcar fans could follow the team throughout the 2013 season on their social media sites and their website which are regularly updated for about 45,000 fans on Facebook and more than 6000 followers on Twitter.
